דַּל dal "poor", synonyms include: 'anaw (Am 2:7) 'ebyon (Am 4:1; 8:6). Like 'ebyon, dal is most frequently found in Amos and in Wisdom literature. Only Zephaniah among the prophets shows anything like Amos' frequency of use (Am 2:7; 4:1; 5:11; 8:6).
