נְאוֹת
ne'ot pasture, place where
flocks are
grazed. In Joel 1:19-20;
2:22 and Jer 9:9; 23:10;
25:37 they are explicitly
"pastures in the wilderness" thus fairly sparse and dry areas. While,
by contrast the "pastures" mentioned in Ps 23:2
are said to be "green". In Am 1:2 they are expected to be a source
of food for the flock, but are in fact withered.
