A number of pre-Christian texts are found in the Greek
Bible (LXX) but not in the Hebrew
(MT). Catholics and Orthodox regard these texts as Scripture (though Catholics
call them deuterocanonical – belonging to the second list). Protestant tradition
sees them as useful but not fully authoritative and uses the term Apocrypha.
