Deuteronomistic History

Term used for the books of Joshua, Judges, Samuel and Kings, which together tell of the story of Israel from crossing the Jordan to exile from the promised land. They show similarities of style, theology and theme and are seen as related in some way to the tradition of Deuteronomy - hence the name "Deuteronomistic".
