Redaction
- Means roughly the same as "editor", that is someone
who weaves together and adapts material for publication. In biblical studies
the word is preferred to "editor" where the stress is on the
creative role such people play, on this view a "redactor" creates
a work using existing text as well as writing material themselves. The
redactor gives shape and meaning to a text that they work.
